Film_TV : Comedy Score : Light Activity
Self improvement can be great, And it’s certainly always good to have nice support network of fiends and family, however quirky they may be. Settle in with us as we offer some light, fun and titling orchestral takes on the romantic comedy genres. Add in some marimbas and a bit of guitar and you’ve got the perfect combination for friendships, mother-daughter relationships and the like. Enjoy!
All tracks should be approx. 2:30 in length and contain 3 main sections. In adhering to this 3 act format, we suggest you consider each track as 3 mini-cues or variations on a theme, encompassed in one cohesive track. Start small in section 1; introduce your ideas and set the mood for what is to come. Section 2 is the mid level intensity of your track. Expand the orchestration perhaps with a counter-idea and stronger approach. There should be a marked increase in intensity from sections 1-2. Section 3 is your final statement. State your idea one final time in as full a version as is warranted for the style. Again there should be a noticeable increase in orchestration and support from section 2-3. Between each section, please include a slight, natural break (just a ‘breath’, for an easy edit point). The end of each section need NOT come all the way down to silence. Rather, it should just be a naturally occurring cadential pause to allow our editor partners a place to cut. The track should feel like one cohesive piece (NOT 3 individual statements).
Reference examples are embedded below. Use these for inspiration. Your tracks should be Activity, Comedy, Fun, Intimate and Quirky. Please capture the same spirit and feel of the references, even though they clearly do not adhere to the prescribed structural direction. Please, vary the instrumentation throughout yet keep each section at the same tempo. For this album, we recommend utilizing the following instrumental forces:
Orchestral Strings, Marimba, Light Percussion, Acoustic guitar, Mallets
The above is suggested instrumentation to help you begin your track, please add additional instrumentation as warranted by the specific style.
We like to see tracks turned around in a few weeks or less. That said, we are MUCH more interested in quality of both composition and production over quantity of tracks or speed of delivery. If you enjoy the process, we can definitely use your help on other albums as well. The more you write, the better the chances of having your music programmed by our editor partners.
If you have any questions, please contact us any time. We look forward to licensing your music!
