Born in the mountains of Puerto Rico, I was raised by a humble family that had an immense love for traditional Puerto Rican music. When I was in second grade, my family then decided that I should take my first steps into music under the tutelage of a professional Cuban pianist. I was classically trained, but I also had a huge love for traditional and popular music. I played piano in Salsa orchestras, as well as other bands that played various genres. Along the way, I learned how to play guitar, alto saxophone, and cuatro (our typical Puerto Rico instrument). During my teenage years I discovered my love for music composition and ever since I have not stopped. Later on I enrolled at the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. During these college years I was introduced to Film Scoring for the first time, so I started making tons of music for student short films, until I realised this was my truest passion in music. In 2015, I moved to Seattle, WA. Here I earned a Master’s Degree in Music in Film Composition under the tutelage of Dr. Hummie Mann at the Seattle Film Institute. In Seattle I got to learn more about scoring music for Video Games, and this opened up the doors for me to write music for a few indie games later on. Today, I keep on scoring music for films and video games.
