Matt Read is an Austin, TX based guitarist, composer and private instructor with over 20 years of professional playing and teaching experience. Matt is a graduate of The University of North Texas, and received a scholarship to study jazz guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. Matt has established himself as an in-demand guitarist and teacher known for his outstanding tone, time, taste, and professionalism. In 2015 he released his second solo acoustic album entitled Onward.
In 2017 he released the album Western Theatre, a collaboration with long time friend and fellow Austin guitarist Chris McQueen from the three-time Grammy winning jazz group Snarky Puppy. Matt also makes up one half of Scotch and Coda Productions, a music production duo that produces music for film, advertisements, and video games. Matt is also an artist for Collings Guitars and Jim Dunlop.
