Lewis grew up in the city of Detroit where there were lots of opportunities for a young Guitarist. During his high school years, he began by performing in rock/metal bands, Jazz bands, and various auditioned ensembles, such as the Civic Youth Jazz Orchestra lead by the great Rodney Witaker. He then attended Berklee College of Music with a performance scholarship and near the end of his tenure at the college, composition began to take hold as a main interest and he then switched from Guitar Performance, to graduating with dual degrees in Film Scoring and Composition. Since making Los Angeles his home, he has composed and orchestrated music for many projects including the feature length film, Pickup and orchestrations for Marvel’s, Guardians of the Galaxy. When he is not composing or orchestrating, he enjoys producing artists and teaching private students in composition, theory, and Guitar.
