Jerome Kurtenbach is a composer, producer, artist and musician. Along with Rachel Bloom, he has co-written the new musical Broadway Crazy!, is composer, co-songwriter and orchestrator for the pilot and various episodes on the CW comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, along with many of her digital media. Most recently scoring Brian Bolster’s films Winter’s Watch and Departing Gesture; and Chase Darwin’s Billy & Valerie and Stanley and the Wolf among many other films and shorts. He’s also served as orchestrator/arranger for various projects, including the opening of the 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards, and The Apple Sisters Variety Show. He is also composer and lyricist for three new musicals Outside the Lines (co-produced and book by Matt Mancuso), Paper or Plastic and Queer with The Jade/Anthony Company. He has premiered several stage and digital works, the opera Unleashed, “pop” album Exit (as J Rod), and has co-written and produced several songs on Afraid of Karma, Suck It Christmas!!!, Please Love Me, among other singles. He currently arranges for the Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Sacramento and San Diego Gay Men’s Choruses along with many other LGBTQ organizations across the country. Kurtenbach holds an advanced certificate in film scoring from USC; an MM and BM from OKC.
