James Bell has been recording music for nearly thirty years and, having briefly been obsessed with pretty much every genre of music, ended up specializing in folk music. He is deeply involved in the folk scene in his native UK, particularly in Oxford where he is artistic director for the local folk festival. He is also a producer, occasional promoter, general facilitator and frequent drinking companion. But he is happiest in the studio, especially when challenged to capture a sound he’s never tried before.
