Jacob Shrum is an award-winning music composer of works for film, video games, and the concert stage. Jacob first became interested in music composition while listening to the soundtracks of video games in his early teens, but began to more seriously study it after discovering such American concert music pioneers as Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein. Originally from the Chicago area, Jacob studied composition at Indiana University in Bloomington before earning his Master’s in Film Scoring from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Afterward, Jacob moved to the Los Angeles area, where he currently resides. Despite specializing in a variety of styles, Jacob loves nothing more than to write sweeping melodies for the full orchestra.
