Calin McCarthy is a composer based out of Cleveland, OH. Having always been drawn towards the meticulous nature of film making, he obtained his B.A in Film and Video in 2008 from the University of Toledo. He has composed scores for (4) short independent films, a feature length production, and numerous thesis projects for college students. Cal does not utilize music notation, and composes exclusively by ear. Most of his work is based primarily on traditional orchestral instruments, and believes an unconventional approach is necessary to form a modern, but familiar sound.
