Favorite Media Composers
Some of my favorite media composers include Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler, Alan Silvestri, John Williams, Michael Giacchino and Christopher Lennertz. Lenertz’s work in Medal of Honor: European Assault is actually what made me want to write music for film, TV, and vide games. I used to sit in my room for hours just listening to the main menu music of European Assault. It’s still one of my favorite scores.
Discuss your personal creative workflow
For me, it all starts with a simple hum into my phone. This hum is usually a melody that pops into my head. I have to record it, because if I don’t, I know that I’ll forget it forever. So once I have it recorded, and my iMac is in front of me, I play the melody on my keyboard, and then the whole project really just flowers from there. Literally every piece of music I’ve ever worked on can be traced back to a simple hummed melody on my phone, even all of my artist series tracks.
Discuss the theme of your Artist Series album
This album was inspired by the area music and attraction themes of Future World At Walt Disney’s EPCOT. When I was growing up, the music in this park was one of my favorite things about going to Disney. As soon as I was asked about my interest in writing an artist series album, I knew that this was the direction that I wanted to go in.
