Madeleine Klouda is a composer and clarinetist from Oslo, Norway. She started to play clarinet at the age of 8 and moved to USA at the age of 18 to study Clarinet Performance at SUNY Potsdam, Crane School of Music. Always having a passion for composition, she was invited in 2011 to study with composers Dr. Gregory Wanamaker and John-Paul Brabant. This is where Madeleine discovered her passion for film scoring. While at Crane School of Music, she was writing concert music for small ensembles and in 2013 she had the opportunity to participate in a master class with composer Libby Larson. In 2014 Madeleine was accepted to pursue her Master of Music in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University. At NYU she was studying with composers such as Irwin Fisch, Mark Suozzo and Michael Patterson. She was the winner of the NYU Film Scoring Competition in 2016 and was also selected for the Society of Composers and Lyricists Mentorship program. Her mentors included film composers Chris Hajian and Mark Roos. As of now, Madeleine is working as a freelance composer and orchestrator in NYC, scoring music for film and musical theatre.
